the Kenya Sugar Board. notifies registered industrial manufacturers that approval has been granted to Mumias Sugar Company Limited, to replace sugar exported under ACP/EU Protocols and sugar sold to the local mantlfacturers for induqtrial use, by irnporljng lht.t said sugar duty free: ' ' Provided that Mumias Sugar Company Limited is allowed to import duty- free sugar tlp to a Inaxilndlm of 57,000 metric tonnes from within COMESA region to rcplace its exports to the EU and, sugar sold directty to indujtrial manufacturersï (b) that the said imports shall be deducted from the COMESA quota of l 1 1,*000 metric tonnes of white refined industrial sugar ttllocated to industrial manufacturers for the year 2005; that the said approval to Mumias Sugar Company Limited, sball be a one time transaction and shall rtm from 1st July, 2005'to 28th Febrpary, 2006. The imliortation thereof shall be subject to the provisions of the Sugar Act (Cap. 472)
