GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 9078

PURSUANT to the provisions of Standing Order 29 (3) of the Standing Orders of the National Assembly, it is notified for the information of the Members of the National Assembly and the general public that Special Sittings of the Assembly shall be held on Wednesday, 1st September, 2021 (Morning and Afternoon) commencing at 10.00 a.m. and at 2.30 p.m., respectively, in the National Assembly Chamber, Main Parliament Buildings, Nairobi, for purposes of— (a) tabling of and Notice of Motion on the Report of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs on the vetting of Nominees for appointment to the position of Member of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC); (b) tabling of and Notice of Motion on the Report of the Departmental Committee on Education and Research on the vetting of the Nominees for appointment to the position of Member of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC); (c) tabling of any other Papers with Statutory timelines; (d) conveyance of any urgent Message(s) from the National Executive and/or the Senate; (e) transaction of the following Business— (i) First Reading of the following Bills— (a) The Sustainable Waste Management Bill, 2021; (b) The National Disaster Risk Management Bill, 2021; (c) The Public Procurement and Asset Disposal (Amendment) Bill, 2021; (d) The Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2021; and (e) The Public Procurement and Asset Disposal (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 2021; (ii) Voting on the Motion for the Second Reading of the Central Bank of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2021; (iii) Consideration of Special Motion on appointment of nominees to the position of Member of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC); and (iv) Consideration of Special Motion on appointment of nominees to the position of Member of the Teachers Service Commission. The Order Paper for the said Special Sittings will be available in the Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly and will also be published on the Parliamentary Website.
