THE 4th schedule (Articles 185 (2) and 187 part 2) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, assigned provisions of County Health Services to the County Governments. The Health services functions include— (a) County Health facilities and pharmacies. (b) Ambulance services. (c) Promotion of primary health care. (d) Licensing and control of undertakings that sell food to the public. (e) Veterinary services (excluding regulations of the profession) (f) Cemeteries, funeral parlours and crematoria (g) Refuse removal, refuse dumps and solid waste disposal In order to improve health services offered at County level health facilities and pharmacies the County Government of Busia in the 43rd County Executive Committee meeting held on the 5th August, 2021, approved upgrading of 17 health facilities to higher levels.
