APPOINTMENT

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by sections 103 (2), 104 (2), 111 (1) (a) and 111 (2) of the Energy Act, 2006, the Cabinet Secretary for Energy extends the appointment of the Taskforce on the Review of Independent Power Producers Power Purchase Agreements, for a period of two (2) months, with effect from the 3rd April, 2018. In the execution of its mandate, the Taskforce shall also— 20th April, 2018 THE KENYA GAZETTE (a) recommend ways of finalizing the transitional Feed In Tariffs Policy including the transitional tariffs or tariff mechanisms for solar photovoltaic and wind; (b) propose tariffs or tariff mechanisms for small hydroelectric dams and biomass; (c) make proposals on the transitional phase for Feed in Tariffs to the Renewable Energy Auction Policy; and (d) make recommendations on the stoppage of projects without approval of feasibility study reports.
