THE URBAN AREAS AND CITIES ACT
APPROVAL
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 9 (1) of the
Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011, complemented by section 72 of the
Interpretation and General Provisions Act, and upon approval by the
Elgeyo/Marakwet Comity Assembly in its plenary session held on 26th
June, 2018, I, Alex Tanui Tolgos, Governor of Elgeyo/Marakwet
County, confer the status of Municipality to Iten Town following grant
of the Municipal. Charter on 21st June, 2018.
