NOTICE is given for information of Members of the County Assembly of Migori and the general public that, pursuant to High Court Judgment at Migori of 19th January, 2018, on Petition No. 10 of 2017 and subsequent Judgement on Election Petition No. 1 of 2018, there shall be a special sitting of the Second Migori County Assembly to be held on Monday the 12th, February, 2018, at 9. 00 a.m. in the Assembly Chamber, Assembly Buildings, Migori. At that sitting, the Speaker of the County Assembly shall be elected in accordance with Article 178 (1) of the Constitution and pursuant to Standing Order 27 (4) of the Migori County Assembly Standing Orders and in accordance with the Court Judgement of 8th February, 2018. Members are further notified that the petitioner David Kerario Marwa and 1st respondent Boaz Owiti Okoth are the only legible candidates for the election to determine the Speaker of the County Assembly of Migori pursuant to Standing Order No. 7 (2) of Migori County Assembly for election as Speaker by simple majority.
