IT IS notified for information to the public that the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Co-ordination of National Government, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2 (4) and 3 of the Public Holidays Act, read together with Articles 101 (1), 177 (1) (a) and 180 (1) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, declares Monday, 29th August, 2022, as a public holiday in the electoral areas listed in the schedule hereto to afford voters in the said areas the opportunity to participate in the election of County Governor, Member of Parliament and Member of County Assembly, as the case may be. SCHEDULE 1. Mombasa County 2. Kakamega County 3. Kitui Rural Constituency 4. Kacheliba Constituency 5. Pokot South Constituency 6. Rongai Constituency 7. Kwa Njenga Ward 8. Nyaki West Ward All employers around the country are requested to release their employees who are registered voters in the electoral areas listed to enable them participate in the voting exercise.
