in accordance with Article 178 (1) of the Constitution of Kenya, section 21 (1) of the Elections Act, 2011, section 7 of the County Governments Act, 2012 and pursuant to Standing Order 5 of the Nairobi City County Assembly Standing Orders. Any person who is eligible for election as Speaker of the Nairobi City County Assembly in terms of Article 178 (1) of the Constitution of Kenya, section 7 of the County Governments Act, 2012 and section 21 (1) of the Elections Act, 2011 and who is interested in contesting for this position is advised to collect nomination papers from the Office of the Clerk of the County Assembly, 2nd Floor, Room No. 273, City Hall Buildings, Assembly Wing, Nairobi, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., commencing on the 23rd September, 2022 and ending on the 26th September, 2022 at 5.00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday inclusive. Completed nomination papers, together with the curriculum vitae of each candidate and the relevant supporting documents, should be returned to the Office of the Clerk of the County Assembly at least forty-eight (48) hours before the County Assembly assembles for the purposes of the first sitting, that is, not later than 9.00 a.m. on Tuesday, 27th September, 2022. The supporting documents include: (a) A copy of the National Identify Card. (b) A copy of the Personal Identification Number (PIN No.) Certificate. (c) Copies of education certificates. (d) Current Certificate of Good Conduct from the National Police Service. (e) Current Clearance from the Higher Education Loans Board. (f) Current Clearance from the Kenya Revenue Authority.
