IT IS notified for the information of the general public that pursuant to Article 178 of the Constitution, section 21 (5) (a) of the Elections Acts, 2011 and Standing Order 6 of the County Assembly of West Pokot Standing Orders, the Office of the Speaker of the County Assembly shall become vacant upon the first sitting of the County Assembly on Wednesday, the 21st September, 2022, at 9.00 a.m. Accordingly, any person who is eligible for election as Speaker of the County Assembly in terms of Article 193 of the Constitution of Kenya and section 25 of the Elections Act, 2011 and is interested in contesting for this position is advised to collect nomination papers from the Office of the Clerk of the County Assembly, County Assembly Buildings, Kapenguria between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., commencing on Saturday, the 17th September, 2022 and ending on Sunday, the 18th September, 2022. Completed nomination papers, together with detailed curriculum vitae of the candidate and relevant supporting documents, should be returned to the Office of the Clerk of the County Assembly at the County Assembly Buildings, Kapenguria at least forty-eight (48) hours before the County Assembly assembles, being not later than 9.00 a.m. on Monday, the 19th September, 2022.
