GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 11250

IT IS notified for the information of the general public that pursuant to Articles 178 (2) (b), 194 (1) (f) of the Constitution of Kenya, section 11A of the County Governments Act, 2012 and Standing Order 14 of the County Assembly of West Pokot Standing Orders, the Office of the Deputy Speaker of the County Assembly of West Pokot became vacant at the end of the term of the Second County Assembly of West Pokot. During the first sitting of the Third County Assembly of West Pokot to be held on Wednesday, the 21st September, 2022, at County Assembly Chambers, Kapenguria, West Pokot , at 9.00 a.m., the Deputy Speaker of the County Assembly shall be elected from among persons who are Members of the County Assembly in accordance with Article 178 (2) (b) of the Constitution of Kenya, sections 9A (2) and 11A of the County Governments Act, 2012, sections 21 (3) and (4) of the Elections Act, 2011 and pursuant to Standing Order 14 of the County Assembly of West Pokot Standing Orders. Any Member of the County Assembly who is interested in contesting for this position is requested to collect nomination forms for election to the office of the Deputy Speaker of the County Assembly of West Pokot from the office of the Clerk of the County Assembly of West Pokot, County Assembly Buildings, Kapenguria between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. commencing on 17th September, 2022 and ending on Sunday, the 18th September, 2022 at 10.00 a.m. Completed nomination papers and application forms together with curriculum vitae of each candidate and the relevant supporting documents should be returned to the office of the Clerk of the County Assembly at least fourty eight (48) hours before the County Assembly of West Pokot assembles for the first sitting and not later than 9.00 a.m. on Monday, the 19th September, 2022.
