NOTICE is given that, the Governor of the County of Mandera has by notice in Kenya Gazette appointed that the first sitting of the County Assembly shall be held at the County Assembly Chamber on Thursday, the 22nd September, 2022 at 9.00 a.m. At that sitting the Deputy Speaker of the County Assembly shall be elected in accordance with Article 178 (2) (b) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, section 9A (2) of the County Governments Act, 2012 and the County Assembly of Mandera Standing Order No. 15. Any person who is eligible for the election as the Deputy Speaker of the County Assembly in terms of Article 178 (2) (b), section 9A (2) of the County Government Act, 2012 and the County Assembly of Mandera Standing Order No. 15 and who is interested in contesting for this position is advised to collect nomination forms from the Office of the Clerk of the County Assembly of Mandera during working hours from Friday, the 16th September, 2022, to Monday, the 19th September, 2022, inclusive of Saturday, between 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Completed nomination forms, together with detailed curriculum vitae of the candidate and relevant supporting documents, should be submitted to the Office of the Clerk of the County Assembly of Mandera not later than Tuesday, the 20th September, 2022 at 9.00am.
