WHEREAS, Article 106 of the Constitution provides that there shall be a Deputy Speaker for each House of Parliament, who shall be elected by that House in accordance with the Standing Orders, from among members of that House and that the office of the Deputy Speaker shall become vacant when the new House of Parliament first meets after an election and if the office holder, as a member of the relevant House vacates office under Article 103. AND WHEREAS, in furtherance to the provisions of Article 126 (2) of the Constitution, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander in Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces has, vide
