REGULATION

NOTICE is given for the general information of the public that, pursuant to the provisions of the section 179 of the Insurance Act and Regulation 12 of the Insurance (Policyholders Compensation Fund) Regulations, 2010, the Board of Trustees of the Policyholders Compensation Fund in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary, the National Treasury and Economic Planning, has approved that the maximum amount payable as compensation on any one claim, for all classes of insurance, shall be Kenya Shilling Five Hundred Thousand (KSh. 500,000). This compensation limit shall apply to policyholders and claimants of any insurer, that after the commencement date of this Notice, is placed under a manager appointed under section 67C (2) or whose license has been cancelled under the Insurance Act. The amount payable as compensation shall come into force from the date of publication of this notice and shall remain in force until otherwise notified. *
