GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 13178

IT IS notified for the information of the general public that pursuant to Article 145 (3) of the Constitution and standing order 78 (1) of the Senate Standing Orders, at a sitting of the Senate held on Wednesday, 9th October, 2024, the Senate resolved to investigate the proposed removal from office, by impeachment, of His Excellency Rigathi Gachagua, E.G.H., Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya in plenary. Consequently, pursuant to standing order 78 (9) and Rule 3 of Part 1 of the Second Schedule to the Senate Standing Orders, I appoint Wednesday, 16th October, 2024 as the date for the commencement of the hearing. The hearing shall be held in the Senate Chamber, Parliament Buildings, Nairobi and shall commence at 10.00 a.m. on Wednesday, 16th October, 2024 and run up to the conclusion of the hearing on Thursday, 17th October, 2024.
