THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND CO-ORDINATION ACT
(No. 8 of 1999)
REGULATION
PURSUANT to regulation 21 of the Environmental Management
and Co-ordination (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, 2003,
the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has
received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for the
above proposed project.
The proponent, Lake Victoria North Water Works Development
Agency is proposing to rehabilitate, augment the existing construction
works of Bungoma Town—Kibabii Sewerage project, located Bungoma
Town, Wamunyiri and Kibabii, Bungoma County.
The following are the anticipated impacts and proposed mitigation
measures:

disposal areas.
• Minimize waste production by utilizing
best available techniques for site
preparation.
• Re-use construction waste to the maximum
extent possible.
• Excavation activities and dumping of spoils
should be properly managed such that land
which is not required for the project is left
undisturbed.
