THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AND PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS ACT
(Cap. 266)
REGISTRATION
IN EXERCISE of ttte powers c'onferred by 'section 3 of the
National Assembly and Presidential Elçctions Ac( and regulation 3 ( 1)
of the National Assembly Electiuns (Registration of Voters)
Regulations, tile Electoral Commission appoints the persons named in
the second and third columns of the schedule to be the registration
officers and assistant registration officersa respectively for the
constituencies named in the tirst column of the schedule.
The appointment shall come into force on 28th October. 2005 and
will be for the conduct of the referendum to be held on 21st
November, 2005 only. .
The appointment of registration and assistant registration officers
appearing in Gazette Notice Mos. 7243. 7737 and 7942 of 2005, shall
stand revoked.

FOR THE PROPOSED 'I'RANSMARA SUGAR COMPANY IN
KEIYAN DIVISION. TRANSMARA DISTRIG
PURSUANT to regulation i l of the Environmental (lmpact
Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment
Management Authority (NEMA), has received an environmental
impact assessment study report for the proposed Tmnsmara Sugar
Complny in Keiyan Division, Transmara District in Rift Valley
Province.
The proposed pçoject shall be built on a 70 acre of Iand. on L.R.
Nos. Transmar=lsampin/276/354/378/38'3 qn map sheet 144/1 of the
Survey.of Kenya. It is marked by Iatitudes and longitudes 1 O 0' 2'' and
3X0 43' l '' E respectively and grid reference 670.9 and 9989,8 in
Keiyan Division of Transmara District.
The projèct aims at establishing 500TCD capacity modern sugar
factory and its subsequent expansion to 800 TCD in Enoosaen area .of
Keiyan Division so as to commercially and competitively provide the
cane farmers in the area with an alternative, ti.mely and competitive
milling facility as well as sugarcane growing support services.
The project anticipates the followiwg impacts and mitigation
