TRANSMARA DISTRIG PURSUANT to regulation i l of the Environmental (lmpact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), has received an environmental impact assessment study report for the proposed Tmnsmara Sugar Complny in Keiyan Division, Transmara District in Rift Valley Province. The proposed pçoject shall be built on a 70 acre of Iand. on L.R. Nos. Transmar=lsampin/276/354/378/38'3 qn map sheet 144/1 of the Survey.of Kenya. It is marked by Iatitudes and longitudes 1 O 0' 2'' and 3X0 43' l '' E respectively and grid reference 670.9 and 9989,8 in Keiyan Division of Transmara District. The projèct aims at establishing 500TCD capacity modern sugar factory and its subsequent expansion to 800 TCD in Enoosaen area .of Keiyan Division so as to commercially and competitively provide the cane farmers in the area with an alternative, ti.mely and competitive milling facility as well as sugarcane growing support services.
