IN EXERCISE of the power conferred by the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, Articles 183 and 186, schedule 4: 2; 2, as read together with County Government Act, 2018, sections 36 and 39, Turkana CHS Act part IV, section 9, the County Executive Committee Member, Health Services and Sanitation, Turkana County appoints the persons named in the Schedule as the county community health services committee for the listed below whose tenure runs for three (3) years from the date of gazettement. Ekalimon Joseph Member/FBO Evelyn Kataboi Member /Religious County Community Strategy Focal Point Person Member Benson Ebei Member /PWD Susan Loyokon Ereng Youth Gabriel Ekalale Member /NEPHAK Mutu Paul Lopodo (Dr.) Member/research Roles: (1) The Committee shall be responsible for the coordination of community health services in the County; (2) Develop policies to ensure that adequate measures are in place to cater for the provision of community health services in all parts of the county; (3) Oversee and monitor the implementation of community health services within the county and report to the Executive Committee Member in a manner prescribed by regulations; (4) Develop strategies for effective and efficient delivery of community health services; (5) Identify gaps existing in community health workforce and recommend to the chief officer on recruitment in line with the existing scheme of service; (6) Be responsible for the administration of the County Community Health Fund established under this Act; (7) Give general or special directions to community health unit committees or a member of the community service committee on any matter falling within their jurisdiction; and (8) Advise the Executive Committee Member responsible for Health, on matters of community health.
