GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 511

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 38 (1) of the Physical and Land Use Planning Act, 2019, notice is given that the County Government of Machakos intends to commence preparation of the above plan on the 22nd November, 2024. The objectives of the plan are to— (a) analyse the Existing Land Uses in Matuu, Kithimani, Sofia, Kyasioni, Ndalani and Kivandini; (b) synthesize the constraints and opportunities in Matuu, Kithimani, Sofia Kyasioni, Ndalani and Kivandini; (c) prepare alternative development models; (d) prepare action area plans; (e) secure land tenure; (f) control development; (g) formulate the Local Physical and Land Use Development Plan; and (h) prepare the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Framework. The purpose of the plan is: To act as a Framework for Development Control within Matuu, Kithimani, Sofia Kyasioni, Ndalani and Kivandini towns. Extent of the area covered is Matuu, Kithimani, Sofia, Kyasioni, Ndalani and Kivandini towns. The information to be set out in the Plan shall include: Land Use Map, Zoning Regulations, Development Goals and Objectives, Infrastructure Plan, Environmental Considerations, Community Facilities, housing strategy, Economic Development, Public Engagement and Implementation and Monitoring Plan. Suggestions that may be included in the proposed plan may be directed to County Executive Committee Member, Lands, Housing, Urban Development and Energy not later than 13th December 2024 Dated the 22nd November, 2024.
