APPOINTMENT

PURSUANT to the Judgement of the High Court at Meru delivered on the 19th May, 2025 in Constitutional Petition No. E8 of 2025; Linda Gakii Kiome v IEBC, County Assembly of Meru & County Government of Meru (Interested Parties) and the orders issued by Hon. Justice S .M. Githinji requiring the Commission Secretary/CEO of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to publish this gazette notice and gazette a Returning Officer for purposes of clearing the Deputy Governor nominee, and pursuant to section 32D of the County Governments Act, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 88 (4) of the Constitution of Kenya and Regulation 4 of the Elections (General) Regulations, 2012, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission appoints the person named in the third column of the Schedule as the County Returning Officer for the purpose of clearance of nominated Deputy Governor, Meru County.
