GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 1654

WHEREAS the Third County Assembly of Mombasa was scheduled to end its Fourth Session on Monday, 9th February, 2026 in accordance with the approved Assembly Calendar of 2025 and commence its Fifth Session on Tuesday, 10th February, 2026, at 10.00 a.m. pursuant to Standing Order 24 (1) of the Mombasa County Assembly Standing Orders; AND WHEREAS unusual and exceptional circumstances have arisen, namely ongoing renovations at the Mombasa County Assembly Buildings which pose occupational risk and make it impracticable to resume sittings on the scheduled date; NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to Standing Order 1 on Speaker’s residual powers and his constitutional duty to protect the dignity, safety, and orderly functioning of the Assembly, I HEREBY DIRECT as follows: 450 450 1. THAT, the commencement of the Fifth Session of the County Assembly scheduled for Tuesday, 10th February, 2026 due to the aforementioned unusual circumstances is postponed; 2. THAT, the Fifth Session will commence on Tuesday, 17th February, 2026 at 10.00 a.m.; 3. THAT, this direction is temporary and procedural, and shall be placed before the County Assembly at the earliest opportune time for adoption in accordance with Standing Order 25 of the Mombasa County Assembly Standing Orders; and 4.
