NOTICE is given that an application under section 17 of the Mining Act, has been made by Messrs. Mayfox Company Limited, of P.O. Box 18310-00500, Nairobi, Kenya, for a special licence to prospect for precious and non-precious minerals over the 'area described in the schedule hereto and the said application has been accepted for consideration. By virtue of the above section of the Act, the said area of land is therefore re-opened to prospecting and mining and by virtue of section 7 (I) (d) of the Mining Act, the said area of land is excluded from prospecting and/or mining except as regards any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area or any part thereof before the date of this notice which are subsisting or any right of renewal thereof. - Any objection to the grant of the special licence may be made in writing and addressed to the Commissioner of Mines and Geology, P.O. Box 30009-00100, Nairobi, Kenya, to reach him within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice. SCHEDULE An area of approximately. 22,000 square kilometres situated in Turkana District of Rift Valley Province, delineated on topo sheets Lokitaung Ref. No. NA-36-3, Lodwar Ref. No. 36-4 Kaabong Ref. No. 36-3 and Didinga Ref. No. NB-36-15 of scale 1:250,000 and more particularly described as follows: "Commencing at point "A" grid reference XV 1067; thence on a grid bearing of 46° for a distance of approximately 20 kilometres to point "B" grid reference XA 5712; thence on .a grid bearing of 94° for a distance of approximately 170 kilometres to point "C" grid reference BH 2498; thence on a grid bearing of 184° for a distance of approximately. 39 kilometres to point "D" grid reference BH 2360; thence on a grid bearing of 194° for a distance of approximately 5& kilometres to the point "E" grid reference BH 0802; thence on a grid bearing of 227° for a distance of approximately 4 kilometres to the point "F" krid reference BH 0600; thence on a grid bearing of 100° for a distance of approximately 22 kilometres to the point "G" grid reference BB 2895; thence on a grid bearing of 275° for a distance of approximately 162 kilometres to the point "H" grid reference XV 6507; thence on a grid bearing of 320° for a distance of approximately 38 kilometres to the point of commencement.
