PURSUANT to regulation: 21 of the Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for the implementation of proposed Air Field. The proposed project involves of construction and maintenance of an air-field with, a.hanger. for the proponent to manage horticulture farms dealing with growing cut flowers for export. The project is to be located on L.R. No. 395/8, Naivasha. The project anticipates the following impacts and mitigation measures: Possible Impacts, Mitigation Measures I. Dust. • Provision. dust coats, caps and Masks to the workers on the site. •'Sprinkling water on the loose surfaces. 2. Noise • Engines of equipment will be switched riff *hen idle. •Work will be limited from 8.00am to 5.00pni. •.Construction workers will be provided with.ear muffs. •A kieapplc hedge will he planted to help screen some of the noise. 1 Loss 4-vegetation cover • Fell minimum number of trees. •Replant remaining portion of farm with indigenous trees. •Manage remaining riparian area as forest. •Operate as per Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA)-visual flight , rules applicable to unmanned airstrips. •Integrated' health and safety system be part of contract terms.
