THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND CO-ORDINATION ACT

(No. 8 of 1999)

REGULATION

PURSUANT to regulation 21 of Environment Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for the implenientation of proposed construction of a hotel facility on plot No. 15075 in Kilifi District. Proposed project entails construction of 9 cottages, 2 presidential suites, 2 deluxe rooms, swimining pool, conference rooms, kitchen and restaurants, parking' nd health club among others. The Project anticipates the following impacts and mitigation measures. Possible impact Mitigation measures I. Occupational health • Prevention and management of and safety foreseable accidents through: Arranging for emergency plans Periodic testing of emergency plans. Provide education on safety. Rrst aid equipment NEMA invites members of the public to submit oral or written comments within sixty (60) days from the date of publication of this notice to the Director General, NEMA, to assist the Authority in the approval process of the project B.
