NOTICE is given that an application under section 17 of the Mining Act has been made by Messrs. Gemkit Enterprises Limited, of P.O. Box 63344-00619, Nairobi, keila for a special licence to prospect for precious metals, base metals and non-precious minerals over an area described in the schedule hereto and the said application has been accepted for consideration. By virtue of the above mentioned section of the Mining Act, the said area of land is therefore re-opened to prospecting and mining and by virtue of section 7 (I) (d) of the same Act, the said area of land is excluded from prospecting and or mining except as regards any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area or any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area or any part thereof before the date of this notice which are subsisting or any right of renewal thereof. WHEREAS I have on my own accord, decided that an inquiry be held into the by-laws, working and financial conditions of Nandi Farmers Sacco Society Limited (CS/9302), and in accordance with section 58 of the Co-operative Societies Act (No. 12 of 1997). Now therefore, I authorize (I) Jairus Owino Njoga, Co-operative Offier, Bu'sia District and (2) Alice 0. Osiko (Ms.), Co-operative Officer, Kisumu District, to hold an inquiry within twenty (20) days from the date thereof at such place and time as may be expedient and duly notified by them. The attention of all officers and members of the society is directed to the following sections of the Co-operative Societies Act. Section 60 (1)—Cost of inquiry. The part development plan relates to land situated within Garissa Municipality. Copies of the part development plan as prepared has been deposited for public inspection at the offices of District Physical Planning Officer, Garissa, District Commissioner, Garissa, Town Clerk, Municipal Council of Garissa and Chief, Township Location.
