DECLARATION

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 25 (1) (a) of the National Museums and Heritage Act, the Minister of State for National Heritage and Culture, in consultation with the National Museums, declares the areas specified in the schedule to which he considers to be of historical interest, to be protected areas within the meaning of the Act. SCHEDULE GITHUNGURI GALLOWS All that area and surrounding area measuring approximately 4m by 4m located on L.R. No. Githunguri/Githunguri/463 and geographical measurements of 01° 03.254S, 036° 47.037E, situated in Githunguri Division, Kiambu District, Central Provice. MAU MAU TRENCH All that area known as Mau Mau Trench and the surrounding area measuring approximately 500m and geographical measurements of 37° 11'50E, 0° 24'54S, situated along Kamunyaka–Itundu–Ihwagi Road, Nyeri District, Central Province.
