GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 2302

NOTICE is given that application under section 18 (2) of the Mining Act has been made by Messrs. Universal Resources International Limited, of P.O. Box 25005–00100, Nairobi, Kenya for exclusive prospecting licence to prospect for non-precious and industrial minerals over an area described in the schedule hereto and the said application has been accepted for consideration. By virtue of section 7 (1) (d) of the Mining Act the said area of land is therefore excluded from prospecting and or mining except as regards any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area in question or any part thereof before the date of this notice which are subsisting or any right of renewal thereof. Any objection to the grant of the exclusive prospecting licence may be made in writing and addressed to the Commissioner of Mines and Geology, P.O. Box 30009–00100, Nairobi, Kenya to reach him within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice. SCHEDULE An area of approximately 320km situated in Kitui District of Eastern Province, delineated on Kibwezi topo sheet Ref. No. SA-37-10 of scale 1:250,000 and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at point ―A‖ grid reference CH 8470; thence on a grid bearing of 90 for a distance of approximately 16km to point ―B‖ grid reference DH 0070; thence on a grid bearing of 180 for a distance of approximately 10km to point ―C‖ grid reference DH 0060; thence on a grid bearing of 90 for a distance of approximately 6km to point ―D‖ grid reference DH 0660; thence on a grid bearing of 149 for a distance of approximately 11.3km to point ―E‖ grid reference DH 1150; thence on a grid bearing of 233 for a distance of approximately 10.3km to point ―F‖ grid reference DH 0444; thence along River Athi to the point of commencement.
