GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 4217

NOTICE is given that application under section 18 (2) of the Mining Act has been made by Messrs. Ablun Mining Company Limited, of P.O. Box 7251–00300, Nairobi, Kenya for exclusive prospecting licence to prospect for base metals and precious minerals over an area described in the schedule hereto and the said application has been accepted for consideration. By virtue of section 7 (1) (d) of the Mining Act the said area of land is therefore excluded from prospecting and or mining except as regards any prospecting and mining rights granted in respect of the area in question or any part thereof before the date of this notice which are subsisting or any right of renewal thereof. Any objection to the grant of the exclusive prospecting licence may be made in writing and addressed to the Commissioner of Mines and Geology, P.O. Box 30009–00100, Nairobi, Kenya to reach him within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice. SCHEDULE An area of approximately 121 km situated in Mandera District of North Eastern Province, delineated on Moyale topo sheet Ref. No. NA-37-3 of scale 1: 250,000 and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at point ―A‖ grid reference BM 7836; thence on a grid bearing of 63 for a distance of approximately 15km to point ―B‖ grid reference BG 3643; thence on a grid bearing of 90 for a distance of approximately 4.5km to point ―C‖ grid reference BG 4043; thence on a grid bearing of 180 for a distance of approximately 15 km to point ―D‖ grid reference BG 4027; thence on a grid bearing of 270 for a distance of approximately 17.8 km to point ―E‖ grid reference BM 7827; thence on a grid bearing of 360 for a distance of approximately 8km to the point of commencement.
