DECLARATION

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by the Constitution of Kenya, Section 14(2) of the National Assembly and Presidential Elections Act (Cap 7) and Regulation 41(2) (b) of the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections Regulations, the Interim Independent Electoral Commission certifies that Khalwale Boni has been declared the winner of the Ikolomani parliamentary seat following the by-elections held on 23rd May 2011. The Results of the By-elections are as follows: Valid votes cast for Mr. Khalwale Boni were (in figures) 13,208 (in words) Thirteen Thousand Two Hundred and Eight. Total votes cast against the voters register were (in figures) 24,598 (in words) Twenty Four Thousand Five Hundred and Ninety Eight. Rejected Votes (in figures) 395 (in words) Three Hundred and Ninety five. Total valid votes (in figures) 24,203 (in words) Twenty Four Thousand Two Hundred and Three. Votes cast as per each candidate are as indicated in the schedule respectively.
