NOTICE is given of the proposed transfer of the general insurance business of Insurance Company of East Africa Limited to Lion of Kenya Insurance Company Limited. The proposed transferor is Insurance Company of East Africa Limited of 17th Floor, ICEA Building, Kenyatta Avenue, P.O. Box 46143-00100, Nairobi ("ICEA") The proposed transferee is Lion of Kenya Insurance Company Limited of 7th Floor, Williamson House, 4th Ngong Avenue, P.O. Box 30190-00100, Nairobi ("LOK") Following receipt of the approval for the proposed transfer by the Minister of Finance, ICEA intends to transfer its general insurance business to LOK. ICEA will retain all of its long-term insurance business. Details of the general insurance business which will be transferred to LOK are set out in a Statement of Particulars which is available for public inspection as explained below. The application for approval of the proposed transfer was made to the Minister of Finance through the Commissioner of Insurance pursuant to the provisions of section 113 of the Insurance Act. Copies of a statement setting out particulars of the transfer have been deposited at the following offices: 1. Insurance Company of East Africa Limited of 17th Floor, ICEA Building, Kenyatta Avenue, P.O. Box 46143-00100, Nairobi. 2. Lion of Kenya Insurance Company Limited of 7th Floor, Williamson House, 4th Ngong Avenue, P.O. Box 30190- 00100, Nairobi. 3. The Commissioner of Insurance, Zep-Re Place, Off Mara Road, Upper Hill, P.O. Box 43505-00100, Nairobi. The copies of the Statement of Particulars will be available for inspection by any person interested during normal business hours for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice. Any interested person (including any employee, director, shareholder or policyholder) who has reasonable grounds for believing that he would be adversely affected by the transfer, is invited to write or make oral representations to the Minister within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notice, stating the grounds on which he believes he would be adversely affected by the carrying out of the scheme of transfer.
