THE TREATY FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITY ACT

(No. 2 of 2000)

ESTABLISHMENT

IT IS notified for the information of the general public that rule 4 (2) of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community (Election of Members of the Assembly) Rules, 2012, provides that the Returning Officer, who is the Clerk of the National Assembly, shall, by notice in the Gazette and in at least two daily newspapers of national circulation, appoint a nomination day, which shall be at least seven (7) days from the expiry of the period prescribed under rule 4 (1) and shall indicate in such notice the venue for the receipt of nomination papers. Pursuant to rule 4 (1), I appoint Friday, 25th May, 2012 as the nomination day. Nomination papers shall be received on the nomination day in the Main Conference Room, 1st Floor, County Hall, Nairobi commencing at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. Dated the 16th May, 2012. P. G.
