IT IS notified for the information of the general public that the Minister of State for Public Service has for the purposes of supporting, co-ordinating and overseeing the functions of the Task Force on Values and Principles of Public Service of Kenya established a National Steering Committee on Values and Principles of Public Service. 1. The members of the National Steering Committee are: Members: Prof. Githu Muigai (Prof.), Attorney-General. Mohamed Isahakia, (Dr.), Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister. Karega Mutahi, (Prof.), Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government. Titus M. Ndambuki, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of State for Public Service. Mutea Iringo, Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security. Gichira Kibara, Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs. Richard E. Ndubai, Permanent Secretary, Performance Contracting Office of the Prime Minister. George I. Godia, (Prof.), Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education. Bernadette M. The Terms of Reference for the Steering Committee are to: (a) Provide policy support and co-ordination to the Task Force on values and principles of Public Service; (b) Receive monthly reports from the Task Force; (c) Exercise oversight on the work of the Task Force; (d) Facilitate the work of the Task Force including securing adequate resources; (e) Ensure effective communication with key stakeholders including development partners; (f) Ensure effective and expeditious discharge of the mandate by the task force; (g) Undertake any other duties as may be necessary for the execution of its mandate. 3. In carrying out its mandate the Steering Committee shall have the power to: (a) Receive and analyze reports from the Task Force, make proposals and give feedback; (b) Hold meetings at such times as it may deem necessary; (c) Hold meetings with development partners and make recommendations from such meetings to the Task Force. 4. The secretariat of the Steering Committee shall be based at Harambee House, Nairobi Kenya. 5. The term of office for the Steering Committee shall be 6 months with effect from 14th September, 2012 but the Minister of State for Public Service may if necessary extend the period.
