THE LABOUR RELATIONS ACT

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 49 (1) of the Labour Relations Act (No. 14 of 2007), the Minister for Labour makes the following Order: (a) Orders companies that are members of the Engineering and Allied Industries Employers Association and Kisumu General Engineering Employers Group to deduct from the wages of each unionisable employee who is not a member of Kenya Engineering Workers Union herein referred to as the ―union‖ but is covered by Collective Bargaining Agreement RCA No. 201 of 2011 and RCA No. 236 of 2011, signed between the groups of association, a sum equal to two per cent (2%) from each employees basic pay per month. (b) Deductions to commence within thirty (30) days of receiving the Order. (c) To remit within ten (10) days, the sums deducted under item (a) by crossed cheque made payable to the union, into that union‘s bank account No. 0100–257–912–002 at Standard Chartered Bank Limited, Kenyatta Avenue Branch, Nairobi.
