ESTABLISHMENT

IT IS notified for the general information of the public that pursuant to section 94 (2) (a–f) of the Mining Act, 2016, the following members have been appointed to the Artisanal Mining Committee of Vihiga County— Under paragraph (a)— Allan Khayesi Anyanje; Under paragraph (b)— Samwel K. Too; Under paragraph (c)— Shem Vidolo, Harun Ugwimba Enonda, Roselyne Akinyi Oloo. Under paragraph (d)— Jacob Mutua; Under paragraph (e)— Hesbon Monda; Under paragraph (f)— Hezekiah Nganyi. 1. The Terms of Reference for the Committee shall be to advise the Representative of the Director of Mines in the granting, renewal, or revocation of Artisanal Mining Permits; 2. The Term of Office for the Committee shall be three (3) years with effect from the date of publication; 3. The Committee shall be based at the State Department for Mining Office in Kakamega; 4. The Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs shall meet the costs of the Committee. Dated the 13th February, 2024.
