ESTABLISHMENT

IT IS notified for the general information of the public that pursuant to section 94 (2) (a–f) of the Mining Act, 2016, the following members have been appointed to the Artisanal Mining Committee of Kilifi County— Under paragraph (a)— Anthony Kingi; Under paragraph (b)— Morris Njagi Kirimo; Under paragraph (c)— Beatrice Zawadi Chirume, Peter Rua Ngema, Joseph Mbaruk Hamisi Tune, Under paragraph (d)— Philip Cockins Ndengu; Under paragraph (e)— William Opiyo Odeyo; Under paragraph (f)— Samuel Mutisya Muinde. 1. The Terms of Reference for the Committee shall be to advise the Representative of the Director of Mines in the granting, renewal or revocation of Artisanal Mining Permits. 2. The Term of Office for the Committee shall be three (3) years with effect from the date of publication. 3. The Committee shall be based at the State Department for Mining Office in Kilifi. 4. The Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs shall meet the costs of the Committee. Dated the 13th February, 2024.
