PURSUANT to Article 184 of the Constitution 2010 as read together with section 48 (1) (a) of the County Government Act, 2012, sections 20 (1) (s) and 21 of Urban Areas, and Cities Act, 2011 (amended 2019) and Article 2.3 of the Kitui Municipal Charter, 2018 the County Government of Kitui has delegated the functions set out in the schedule below to the Municipality of Kitui with effect from 4th December, 2024: Functions Delegated Promotion, regulation and provision of an integrated wastes management system Construction and maintenance of urban roads and associated infrastructure Construction and maintenance of storm drainage and flood controls Construction and maintenance of walkways and other non-motorized transport infrastructure Construction and maintenance of recreational parks and green spaces Construction and maintenance of street lighting Construction, maintenance and regulation of traffic controls and parking facilities Construction and maintenance of bus and taxi stands, and boda-boda sheds Regulation of outdoor advertising Construction, maintenance and regulation of municipal markets and abattoirs Construction and maintenance of fire stations; provision of fire- fighting services, emergency preparedness and disaster management Development and enforcement of municipal plans and development controls Municipal administration services (including construction and maintenance of administrative offices) Municipal administration services (including construction and maintenance of administrative offices) Promoting and undertaking infrastructural development and services within municipality Dated the 4th October, 2024.
