PURSUANT to rcgulation 2l of the Environmental Management and Co-ordination (Impact Asscssment and Audit) Rcgulations, 2003, thc National Environment Management Authority- (NEMA) has rcceived an Environmental Impact Asscssmcnt Study Report for the above proposcd project. ___ The proponent, Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) is proposing to construct Loiyangalani-Mariabit l50KM,400kV Transmission Line in Marsabit County. The proposed Transmission Linc commcnccs at proposed substation in Loiyangalani, Marsabit County. It runs actoss Chalbi Desert and terminatei at a proposcd substation in Hula Hule. The line traverses through on two locations namcly Hula Hula and Kargi both in Laisamis Sub-county, Marsabit County. On completion of thc construction works, the area around the pylons sites will be allowed to rc-vegetrte with indigcnous spccies. o Use of noise protection deviccs whcn working with noisy cquipment. . The construction should be done during daytimc (from 8 rm ro 5 pm) ncar rcsidcntial arcas to minimize noise impacts. . Comply with the pmvisions of Noise Regulations of 2009. .
