GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 12198

Pursuant to Regulation 21 of the Environmental Management and Co-ordination (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, 2003, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for the above proposed project. The proponent, Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, is proposing to construct Kaptionyy Concrete Dam of height 18m and capacity 211,000m3 as main dam and Yeptos Tulwongoi Concrete Dam of height 19m and capacity 219,795.83m3 as check dam. 250mm cement lined steel pipe and length 5.5km will convey water from the dam to the intake located adjacent to the weir at Kiboi Irrigation Headwork. The project will increase food security in Barwasa Division through availing enough irrigation water to Barwesa and Kiboi Irrigation schemes. Dust pollution • Spray water periodically. • Clean the road. • Compact temporary road to avoid dust emission.
