ESTABLISHMENT
IT IS notified for the general information of the public that the
Cabinet Secretary for Education has constituted a Taskforce on
Enhancing Access, Relevance, Transition, Equity and Quality for
Effective Curriculum Reforms Implementation.
1. The Taskforce shall comprise of the following β

2. Terms of Reference
The Terms of Reference of the Taskforce are toβ
(a) Undertake broad stakeholder engagement, review literature and identify international best practices with a view to preparing a comprehensive advisor Report on:
(i) Transition of Grade 6 cohort (of CBC) and Standard 7 and 8 (of 8-4-4) pupils in 2023.
(ii) Domiciling of Grade 7, 8 and 9 within Basic Education
Structure.
(iii) Competency Based Assessment for the reformed curriculum
(iv) Identification of schools to host the Pathways and
Tracks in Senior Secondary school, while considering equity and cost effectiveness.
(v) Strategies and Work Plans to prepare the country for implementation of Senior Secondary Pathways and
Tracks in 2026, including infrastructural and human resource requiremetns.
(vi) Conceptualization and design of competency based pre service teacher education.
(vii) Design and implementation of Values-Based
Education; Community Service Learning; and Parental
Empowerment and Engagement programmes.
(viii) Transition from Basic to Tertiary education and training in 2029, including infrastructural and human resource requirements.
(b) Advice on policy and legal issues necessary for effective implementation of the curriculum reforms, including framework on the working relationship between the national and county governments on implementation of the Pre-
Primary school curriculu, (c) Prepare a strategy for monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum reforms implementation
(d) Advice on any other relevant issue for effective and efficient implementation of the curriculum reforms
(e) Prepare periodic and a final Taskforce Report.
3. The term of the Taskforce will be a period of one year effective from the date the Taskforce is gazetted. However, the period may be extended if necessary.
