IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred upon me by section 9 (I) of the Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011, complemented by section 72 of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act, and upon approval by the Trans Nzoia County Assembly in its plenary session held on 28th November, 2018, I, Patrick Simiyu Khaemba, Governor, Trans Nzoia County, confer the status of Municipality to Kitale Town following the grant of the Municipal charter on 28th March, 2019.
