APPOINTMENT

IT IS notified for the general information of the public that the Cabinet Secretary for Energy has appointed an Inter-Agency Committee on Independent Power Producers' (IPPs) Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) which shall comprise of: Chairperson John Mutua (Dr.) Members Patrick Mawala John Ihuthia Robert Mahenia Leonard Yegon Henry Odedeh (Eng.) Ann Kiburi Kihara Mungai Naomi Githui Daniel Kiptoo Grace Njeru 1. The Terms of Reference of the Inter-Agency Committee shall be to: (a) review and update the recommendations of the report of the Task Force on Independent Power Producers' (IPPs) Power Purchase Agreements dated the 31st May, 2018; and (b) align the report of the Task Force on Independent Power Producers' (IPPs) Power Purchase Agreements with the provisions of the Energy Act, 2019. 2. The Committee shall submit its report and recommendations thereon within a period of three months or such other period as the Cabinet Secretary may specify by notice in the Gazette. 3. The Committee shall be served by an Inter-Agency Secretariat appointed by the Cabinet Secretary comprising of officers from the: (a) Ministry of Energy; (b) Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority; and (c) Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited.
