REGISTRATION

IN EXERCISE of powers conferred under section 7 (2) of the Crops Act, 2013 the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives declares Bixa (Bixa orellana) as a scheduled Crop under Part 3 of the First Schedule of the Crop Act. Bixa shall be developed and regulated in accordance with the provisions of the Agriculture and Food Authority Act, 2013, the Crops Act, 2013 and any Regulations made thereunder. The Agriculture and Food Authority shall in addition take the following developments and regulations measures: (a) Develop Bixa through Capacity building of the industry players on the best agronomic practices; (b) Registration of the Bixa by Registering and licensing the industry players and ensuring compliance to set the standards and; (c) Creating market linkage in both local and international markets Dated the 26th February, 2020.
