THE INDUSTRIAL TRAINING ACT
(Cap. 237)
ACT
IT IS notified for the general information of the public that pursuant to the powers conferred by section 21(1) of the Industrial
Training Act, the Director-General has reviewed and developed
Qualification Packs, National Occupational Standards, Curricula and
Assessment Guidelines to standardize industrial training in Kenya and operationalize the Industrial Training Schemes.
The Qualification Packs and the National Occupational Standards define the Standards of Performance required by the industry for various job-roles. The curricula direct training at various levels of the
National Skills Certificate as defined in the Industrial Training
Schemes as provided in the Industrial Training Act, while the
Assessment Guidelines guide the assessment at various levels of
Government Trade Test and Master Craft's person.
The developed standards and guidelines are as follows—

The reviewed Schemes shall take effect on the date of this notice but shall not affect persons currently undergoing training or registered for assessment under the existing curricula or assessment guidelines.
Copies of the Qualification Packs, the National Occupational
Standards, Curricula and Assessment Guidelines shall be available at the Director-General's office at the National Industrial Training
Authority headquarters from Monday to Friday between 8.00 a.m. and
5.00 p.m., at a fee.
