IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 13 of the Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011, as complemented by section 72 of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act (Chapter 2) and all other enabling provisions of law, the Governor, Embu County Government transfers the following functions to Embu Municipality Board. 1. Municipal administration services including leasing, construction and maintenance of offices. 2. Collection of parking fees advertising and environmental taxes within Municipality. 3. Construction, maintenance and regulation of municipal markets. 4. Control and management of hawking activities with municipality. 5. Provision of GIS services. 6. Development of municipal by-laws. 7. Construction and maintenance of recreational parks, green spaces and social halls. 8. Providing public water points, and maintenance of storm drainage and flood controls. 9. Regulation and control of outdoor advertising. 10. Construction and maintenance of bus parks and taxi stands. 11. Construction, maintenance and regulation of traffic controls and parking facilities. 12. Promotion, regulation and provision of refuse collection and Solid waste management services within Municipality. 13. Construction and maintaining public toilets within the municipality. 3rd March, 2023 THE KENYA GAZETTE 14. Construction and maintenance of feeder roads and walkways within Municipality. 15. Construction and maintenance of storm drainage and flood controls. 16. Construction and maintenance of recreational park and social halls within the municipality. 17. Installation and maintenance streetlights and floodlights. 18. Construction and maintenance of fire stations; provision of firefighting services, emergencies preparedness and disaster management. 19.
