GAZETTE NOTICE NO. 2787

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, National Land Commission Act, 2012, County Governments Act, 2012, Physical and Land Use Planning Act, 2019 and the Land Act, 2012, the County Government of Mandera is mandated to protect and regulate the use of land within its jurisdiction. Further, the National Land Commission is mandated to manage public land on behalf of the National Government and county governments. It has come to the attention of the County Government of Mandera and the National Land Commission Office, Mandera that various individuals and entities have fraudulently/unlawfully acquired public land within Mandera Municipality, other urban areas and the County at large. Such individuals and the general public are informed that the County Government of Mandera and the National Land Commission do not recognize such acquisition and have initiated the process of reverting all the grabbed public land to the department concerned and the County Government of Mandera. Individuals who have illegally acquired land are therefore given thirty (30) days from the date of this notice to: (a) Surrender the illegally acquired public land to the County Government of Mandera. (b) Vacate the said parcels of land. (c) Remove forthwith, all developments which have encroached into public land, road and riparian reserves. The County Government of Mandera in conjunction with National Land Commission will take necessary action within the legal provision. Dated the 25th February, 2023. SALAH M.
