IT IS notified for general public information that the County Executive Committee Member for Finance of Meru County has established a taskforce to be known as the Meru County Microfinance Taskforce. The following persons have been appointed to be the Chairperson and Members of the Meru County Microfinance Taskforce: Stephen Mwenda Mungania – Chairperson Triphosah Rigiri M’ Murithi Andrew Muriungi Ringera Dr. Jeremiah Gitonga Luruti Kiogora Mugambi Luka Mwangi Gichuhi James Nkonge Kamundi Joyce Kagure M’Murithi Mbaabu Muturia Jediel Dr. Kiambi James Thambura Atheru Elizabeth Kanini Priscilla Karauki Eunice Karingu M’Etale Ester Kawira Terms of Reference for the Meru County Microfinance Taskforce: (a) Review the operations, systems, procedures and structure of the Meru County Microfinance Corporation. (b) Advise on measures to improve the Meru County Microfinance efficiency, accessibility and expand its services to a larger customer/client demographic in the County. (c) Explore and review the Meru County Microfinance products and advise on more affordable products that can be implemented. (d) Review the Meru County Microfinance financial statements and review their ability to be self- sustaining. (e) Compile report with recommendations of actions that the County should undertake to ensure compliance with banking laws. The members of the Meru County Microfinance Taskforce, will serve for a period of Thirty (30) days, with effect from the 20th February, 2023. Dated the 27th February, 2023.
