IT IS notified for the information of the general public that conferment of municipality status by the Governor of Kisumu County has been completed for the below listed urban areas pursuant to Article 184 of the Constitution of Kenya, section 48 (1) (a) of the County Governments Act, 2011, sections 9 (1) and 20 of the Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011 (as amended by the Urban Areas and Cities (Amendment) Act, 2019, with effect from the 2nd October, 2023. Ahero Awasi Municipality, Katito Pap Onditi Municipality, Kombewa Bodi Municipality, Maseno Holo Municipality, Muhoroni Chemelil Municipality. PETER ANYANG’ NYON’GO, MR/5920892 Governor, Kisumu County.
