ESTABLISHMENT

IT IS notified for the general information of the public that pursuant to section 94 (2) (a-f) of the Mining Act, 2016, the following members have been appointed to the Artisanal Mining Committee of Kakamega County– Under paragraph (b)— Samwel K. Too; Under paragraph (c)— Victor Musoga; Patrick Boy Makhule; Taylor Clay Moses; Under paragraph (d)— Jacob Mutua; Under paragraph (e)— John Maniafu; Under paragraph (f)— Stephen Chune; The terms of reference for the Committee shall be to advise the Representative of the Director of Mines in the granting, renewal or revocation of Artisanal Mining Permits; 1. The Term of Office for the Committee shall be three (3) years; 2. The Committee shall be based at the State Department for Mining Office in Kakamega; 3. The Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs shall meet the costs of the Committee. Dated the 31st October, 2023.
