ADMINISTRATION ACT 2013 NAIROBI CITY COUNTY PAST LAND RATE PENALTY WAIVERS The Nairobi City County Government has in the past granted partial waivers on land rates penalties as follows: Period | Duration Waiver Collection 2013 15th October to 30th 90% Penalties | KSh. 352.6m November, 2013 2015 1st September to 30th October, 2015 2016 Ist July to 31st August, 90% penalties | KSh. 420.9m 2016 90% penalties | KSh. 597.4m The waivers’ intention was to encourage rate defaulters to regularize their accounts. It is also meant to improve County’s own Revenue collection from such defaulters to enhance service delivery.
