WHEREAS Gerald Kithinji Mwirichia (1D/4825140/70), is reg- istered as proprietor of that piece of land known as parcel No. Kajiado/Ngong/Ngong/12644, situate in the district of Kajiado, and whereas the High Court of Kenya at Nairobi, in civil suit No. 611 of 1996, has ordered that the said piece of land be transferred to (1) Stephen George Karanja Muigai and (2) Salome Wanjiku Mbure, both of P.O. Senior Trade Development Officer (internal Trade) (Twenty Seven Posts) (V/No.171/2000) Salary scale. -K£7.104 to 10,044 p.a. (Job Group ‘L’) Requirements for appointment: Applicants must have—— (i) served satisfactorily in the grade of Trade Development Officer ! for a minimum period of three (3) years, and (ii) shown wide knowledge, competence and administrative ability in the provision of trade development services. Duties and responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities at this level are complex and varied in scope and require adequate knowledge of established policies and directives in the trade development sector. Duties basically include-- (i) heading a district or a section at the headquarters and being responsible for its operations; acting as the departmental representative in the District Development Committee; deputizing for the head of division at the headquarters and assisting him in planning, allocating work and co- ordinating the general activities of the division including research, area study and preparation of development papers; (ii) enforcing the Trade Licensing Act by virtue of being a Licencing Officer and also directing and dispersion of _ business activity and ensuring its orderly growth, (iii) establishing targets of markets and writing papers on Import/Export, tariffs, etc.; (iv) providing technical assistance to export oriented manufacturing entities and enforcing legislation thereof; (v) co-ordinating a wide range of programmes on overall training needs both at home and abroad and also disseminating information to businessmen;, (vi) deployment as Commercial Attache, Head of Mission or assisting Commercial Counsellor for efficient provision of trade services by the Mission; and (vii) monitoring distribution of merchandise in consultation with the parastatals attached to the Ministry to ensure fair trade practices. - Director of Tourism (One Post) (V/No.172/2000) Salary scale.—-K£12.291 to 15,159 p.a. (Job Group ‘Q') Requirements for appointment: Applicants must have--- (i) served in the grade of Deputy Director of Tourism for at least three (3) years; and ~ (ii) demonstrated administrative, managerial and professional competence in work performance. (Job Group ‘L’) Requirements for appointment: Applicants must have- (i), served in the grade of Tourist Officer 1 for at least three (3) years; and (ii) demonstrated administrative ability and professional competence at that grade. ; Duties and responsibilities: Duties at this level will include leadership of tourist offices abroad, promotion of local tourist attractions abroad. co-ordination of activities of international airlines and major tour operators operating to Kenya from the markets under the officer's area of operation and performing public relations duties.
