NOTICE is given that the Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited, a limited liability company having its registered office at Stima Plaza, Kolobot Road, Parklands, P.O. Box 30099, Nairobi in the Republic of Kenya, the holder of, and licensee under the licence above-mentioned, which is more particularly described in the schedule hereto, (the applicant) will, on Ist March, 1999, pursuant to the provisions of the Electric Power Act, 1997, make application to the Minister for Energy for the renewal of the said Licence for a period of fifty (50) years from the respective date of expiration thereof, to 4th September, 2056. 22nd January, 1999 The reason for this application is to enable the applicant to continue to distribute or supply electrical energy within the area covered by the licence, and to receive a bulk supply from electric power producers or from other public electricity suppliers for distribution within the said area. The grant of the application will affect all public or local authorities, companies, persons or bodies of persons within the area. Such persons will be affected by this application by the applicant’s continued distribution of electricity in the area. Any public or local authority, company, person or body of persons desirous of making any representation on or objection to the application for or the granting of such renewal as aforesaid must do so by a letter addressed to the Minister for Energy and marked on the outside of the cover enclosing it “Electric Power Act”, on or before the expiration of sixty (60) days from the date of application and must forward to the applicant a ‘copy of such representation or objection. SCHEDULE All that area covered by Distribution Licence No. 18, dated 5th September, 1956, together with extension to the area of supply dated 8th October, 1959 and 27th February, 1967.
